Sunday afternoon

Cindy visited last weekend on her way to Montana. She hid in Kiera's closet and when we got home from church she suprised Kiera. Kiera couldn't stop hugging her. While Cindy was here she had to get plenty of pictures of Kiera and Ellie to show her family. We went to dinner at Jeff's parents that day and Kiera was very excited to get on the swing set that had been sitting vacant all winter long.

The girls

The weather was so nice outside that we attempted to take a picture of the two girls together outside. Ellie could never look up because the sun was too bright. That is why Kiera got her sunglasses out and told me that we needed to get a pair for Ellie.

Swimming Lessons

Kiera started swimming lessons this month (April). She loves it and looks forward to going on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Brinlie is there too and after they shower they are both trying to figure out a way to spend the rest of the evening together. It has been so fun watching them grow up together.

I think we had a total of 3 easter egg hunts. Kiera quickly became a pro plastic egg finder. She would shake each one before she decided whether it was worthy enough to go in her bucket. We went to Aunt Cathy's for the big family easter egg hunt. It is amazing to see how many great-grandchildren there are, it was neat to have most of them together. The picture of Kiera and I was outside Macey's grocery store. They had baby animals out front so Kiera was in heaven looking at the baby goats.

Disney Princess's on Ice

Jeff's parents got tickets to Disney Princess's on Ice for the girls, Bailie, Brinlie and Kiera. Kiera was so excited to go. I set out on my quest to find her a princess dress. I was realizing I was running out of luck and couldn't find anything that looked like Cinderella's dress. Jeff had made a faithful attemp only to get the dress home and realize that Kiera is not the average 3 year old. She was much to tall for the 3T dresses that he had bought. I was running out of time. I found some cute dresses at JCPenny's and settled on a pink dress. I called Kiera and described it to her she sounded mildly pleased until I told her that it was the same dress that Cinderella had worn when she was a little girl. She asked me how I knew that and I told her that Cinderella was there at the store with me helping me pick out a dress for her. She told me that she wanted to talk to Cinderella...so I quickly took on the role of Cinderella as I handed the phone to myself. My conversation with Kiera as Cinderella was so cute, I felt bad that I was pretending to be Cinderella but it was worth it. Kiera still tells everyone about her dress and had a great time with her grandparents.

Kiera and Addy

Just after Ellie was born one of my very close friends Melissa came out to visit from Texas. We played volleyball together at Utah State. She has a daughter that is very close to Kiera's age. It is so much fun seeing them play together. We went up to Hardware ranch to look at the elk. They were so cute taking turns using the binoculars.

SPRING

I think SPRING is finally here! Our flowers are starting to come up. But yesterday it was almost 70 degrees and knowing Utah it will probably snow the next. Atleast I know the bitter cold is gone until atleast November. Winters are always a little tough to me so I consider it a huge accomplishment to make it to Spring time every year!

CUTE MISS ELLIE

Ellie is doing so well. She has big blue eyes and half the time they look like they are going to pop right out of her head. She is beginning to reach for things, she smiles and has giggled a couple times. She has been sleeping through the night on occasion which is so wonderful. She is such a great baby and I can't believe how much she has changed in such a short amount of time.

Snow Man

Jodie and her family made it out for Ellie's blessing which was awesome. Her boys were hoping to have snow and they were here for a pretty significant storm. Kiera, Gabe and their dad's played outside for almost two hours. They had a big snow ball fight, built a hill off the back of our deck, built tunnels and then built this cute snowman which I enjoyed seeing everyday for about a week until it finally slumped over so much that it's head fell off, that was a rough day for Kiera. But she recovered. Kiera and Gabe enjoyed playing Rock Band as well.

Ellie's Blessing Day

Have you ever thought you knew where something was and you were so convinced that you didn't actually go to get it until the last minute? Well that was the case with the blessing dress. I was 100% sure that it was hanging in Kiera's closet but when I went to get it out Saturday, the day before Ellie was going to be blessed, it wasn't there. I searched everywhere! It was the blessing dress that Kiera wore and that I wore as a baby. Unfortunately, we didn't find it but
Bonnie bought Ellie's blessing dress that saturday and I loved it. The bonnet was so cute on her.

Halloween

Kiera's halloween costume. We let her choose what she was for Halloween and she was set on being a pirate. So here she is in her costume. I don't think Roxy (my sister's pit) got to choose what she was for Halloween.

3 sleepy girls

This picture was taken not long after Ellie was born, maybe a week or two. Jeff caught all three of us snoozing on our bed. Good thing we have a king size bed. I do remember it being a really good nap. I do not get many of those.

Kiera hits the slopes

The day did not end up as I had envisioned it. I have been skiing since I was really young and so as soon as I thought Kiera was ready we got her on some skiis. We took her to Beaver and spend some time on the rope toe. She did pretty well but I am not sure she enjoyed it that much. It was cute because when we were at the car getting our stuff on I put on my goggles and she looked at me and said mom I want some of those too, I want to put on "giggles." On our way home I asked her if she had had fun today and she said sometimes it was fun and other times it was not so fun. Better luck next year. I think I will recruit Shay and my dad to teach her how to ski.

Christmas Lights

Our cute home at Christmas time.

California Trip

Kiera loved riding on the airplane and kept telling me all about the clouds that we were flying through. She was a trooper the entire trip and we had a pretty long layover to endure. Thank heavens for escalators, they kept Kiera entertained in addition to her talking to everyone in the airport that was willing to listen to her talk about the fact that she was on her way to visit Nana and Papa. She was my dad's little shadow while we were there.

Kiera riding horses with Papa

Everyday while we were in California Kiera could not wait for my dad to get home from work so that he could get the horses out to ride. She loved riding Little Joe, she claimed he was the one with the white bum. Thank heavens for my dad's patience because he must have gone around the arena with Kiera and Little Joe in tote about a hundred times.

Trip to V-Town in November

Kiera and I took a trip to California for Thanksgiving and to attend my 10 year highschool reunion. I didn't exactly expect to have to attend my 10 year HS reunion 8 months pregnant. But it was fun to see some good friends.

The last 7 MONTHS...

I am going to back up a little bit, ok a lot! I started this blog back in October of 2007 and have not touched it since then. In fact I hadn't even told anyone about it because I knew people (mostly) family would be mad at me that I don't update it enough. So here is an attempt to catch you up on the last 7 months.

Ellie has arrived!!!!

Ellie Brooke Crosbie was born on December 27th. She was 8 pounds 3 ounces and 20 inches long. She came via c-section (my second). I actually went in for a routine visit with my doctor and never went home. They admitted me due to pre-clampsia and I had her that night. Her original due date was January 10th. It worked out great because a lot of family was in town for the holidays. I am just glad that she didn't arrive on Christmas day because that would mean two Christmas birthdays in one family. Jeff's birthday is on Christmas as well.

My dad and Grandpa Merritt

I am a very proud daughter and granddaughter. This is hanging in a restaurant in St. Anthony, ID where my dad grew up.
