I made brownies this past weekend. Brownies, cookies, etc. don't survive very long in our household. So it didn't take long until we were down to the LAST brownie in the pan. Kiera was eating breakfast and began to make her case on why she should have the last brownie. She sadly claimed that she had only gotten 2 brownies. I told her she could have it but not until after she gets home from pre-school. She agreed but was very worried that her dad would eat it. He was not home thus she could not verbally tell him that the brownie was hers. So she asked for a pen and paper. She told me what she wanted on the note and so I helped her by telling her how to spell some of the words. She wrote, "Kiera's brownie not for mom or dad." I told her that she could put the note on top of the brownie pan and her brownie would make it through the day.
During the day at work I get a text from Jeff that said, "I am screwed..." It scared me because I didn't know what he was talking about. He called me and told me that he had ate the brownie and didn't see the note until it was gone. For those of you who know Kiera if you ate her brownie you would be scared too because she can deliver a pretty intense lecture. So Jeff was sweating it. He claimed that he didn't see the note that was sitting on top of the pan...hmmm a little suspicious. I told him he would just have to deal with her when she gets home and discovers her brownie missing.
I picked up Kiera and headed home and within about 5 minutes she asked about the brownie. I told her she needed to call her father and talk to him about it. She did but to my suprise was not freaking out about the fact that he ate it. When we got home we discovered two heart shaped cookies in the pan.
Way to save the day, DAD!

Ya I am having a hard time believing Jeff's story. Sure, Jeff. Sure.
Glad he was forgiven. :)
That's hilarious!! I think it's funny that Jeff "didn't see the note" but then was really worried after he ate it!! That guilt was setting in--too bad Kiera didn't let him have it!! (Good job, Jeff with the cookies!)
cute story! good thing he got some cookies to ease the pain.
Ummm... I don't buy it, Jeff! I remember all your old tricks and excuses growing up. Can't ever forget the old "I can't help with dishes" excuse! Kiera may have to have a chat soon with her aunts. I'll give him credit for a clever solution though.
Oh my gosh, how funny! I would love to live a day in the life of Kiera!
Sooo funny... We are all laughing. However, we all know Jeff too. McCoy says that Jeff probably bought a 12 pack of heart shaped cookies ate 10 & saved 2 for Kiera. hahahha
We all know all too well what a chocolate sweet tooth Jeff has. He ate it without thinking and then freaked out thinking about the rath of Kiera!! I will say that was a great solution but I also agree with Cindy that he bought a dozen and only left two for Kiera!:-}
Totally brought back memories of growing up with Jeff and made me laugh. I remember many a cereal box, cookies, ice cream, etc. that he would do the same thing as Kiera with. Usually he would label it with stuff like "Jeff's only, don't touch... or die"and then he would draw a picture of a hand grabbing for the box with a knife going to lopp it off or a hangman's nouse. He not only let you know that it was his but gave you the visual of what would happen if you did touched it. Once again the apple didn't fall too far from the tree with Kiera... and I love it! I love that she gives Jeff a taste of his own medicine. :)
Being Jeff's little sister, and I have been told numerous times by my parents that I act like him, this is how it all went down: Jeff saw the note, thought "oh well, I need the chocolate and I'll get something in place of it!" And yes, he probably did buy a bunch of cookies and eat the others or hide them somewhere for himself! That's what I would have done, and I was taught by the one and only- Jeff!
